EMERGING LEADERS APPLICATION WINDOW WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGH DECEMBER 2026 WITH THE PROGRAM BEGINNING FEBRUARY 2027.

Program Description
Acting under CAHIP’s guiding principles of education, communication and advocacy, we are pleased to announce the launch of an Emerging Leaders program, with tracks designed for both Northern and Southern regions of California. This program will run as a collaboration between CAHIP and CAHIP Foundation.
This program will be offered to select young professionals who have demonstrated potential for growth and advancement within our industry. This Emerging Leaders program has a strong focus on providing the participants with exposure to Senior Leadership in both our industry and professional community with the intention of providing additional perspective to further their already promising careers.
The Emerging Leaders Program provides up and coming individuals in the healthcare insurance industry with personal and professional growth opportunities through intimate dialogue with and exposure to both senior level industry leaders and regional business leaders.
CAHIP’s Emerging Leaders Program will be a 12-month program commencing in February 2027 at the CAHIP Innovation Expo, at which selected participants will meet with leadership from area carriers, broker firms, legislative and technology companies.
Program highlights will include:
- Welcome event at Capitol Summit to kick off the Emerging Leaders program approximately 6 in-person + 5 virtual meetings to provide exposure to relevant leadership perspectives and experiences through intimate discussions, case studies, and featured speakers
- Periodic networking gatherings with fellow participants, CAHIP leadership and members as well as executives throughout the program
- Inclusion in all the CAHIP education and networking events throughout the program
- Courtesy registration at in person events
- Program conclusion with graduation at Innovation Expo 2028
Requirements
- Participants ideally will have at least 2-5 years of experience and are currently looking to serve in a leadership capacity either at their employer or in their community.
- Participants should have support from senior leadership within their company prior to applying for the program.
- Each candidate will be asked to submit a letter of professional reference, their resume, and a current headshot.
- Participants should expect to dedicate 10-12 hours per quarter to this program. There will be no required attendance at any programming during Q4 of each year.
Who Should Apply
- Account Managers, Producers, and Sales Professionals ready for expanded leadership roles
- Operations, Compliance, Enrollment, or Client Success professionals seeking broader industry exposure
- Analysts, Underwriters, or Specialists transitioning into people or project leadership
- Practice Managers or Team Leads preparing for director-level responsibilities
- Rising professionals at brokerages, carriers, TPAs, and healthcare technology firms
- Professionals demonstrating leadership through community or industry involvement
Emerging Leaders, once chosen, would be required to do the following:
- Actively participate in all Emerging Leaders events and projects
- Volunteer as requested at selected CAHIP events throughout the program period
- Recruit one new member to join the CAHIP during the program period
- Maintain membership in CAHIP – All NEW members will receive a $50 discount off first year of annual dues
- Submit program participation fee of $895. Fee is discounted to $695 if participant works for a current CAHIP Annual Partner (Bronze+)
